ISSUE 30

You may remember from the very first AOR Underground an Austrian band called Black Rose. Well due to the fact that there are several bands all with that name they have decided to call themselves Badhoven. Their debut release under this monicker is called "Behind The Masquerade" and carries on where their last release left off. This album for me confirms that they are the logical successors to Terranova's fun time AOR crown as this is bright, breezy and full of hooks. Songs like "All Or Nothing" and "Rolling" are pure Terranova while the likes of "Money" with it's AC/DC style riff shows a different side to the band. The lyrics may not be of the cerebral kind but then again the key word here is "Fun" pure and simple and sometimes that's what rock n roll should be all about. A thoroughly recomended CD.
